  Yundum Man Scoops D2M Sports Betting Jackpot A petty trader, Foday Jadama of Yundum has had his life changed instantly as he scooped D2M Jackpot from stakes in sports betting from BWinners company. Foday, 25, said: “I’m running a small business with my partners, selling goods to sustain the family from our profits. This win is god-sent as we can now expand the business. I’m am very happy to have won this money”. Reacting to this huge payment by his company an official of the Bwinners sport betting company said since their establishment in 2017, the company has empowered Gambian youths by providing life-changing opportunities for them to become entrepreneurs and improve their livelihoods. He said Bwinners have paid more than six million dalasis in claims by individuals from diverse backgrounds. Foday is the latest big winner. Recently, two other customers Lassana Krubally and one Salifu from Bakau won millions. Salifu who invested only D25 ticket, won a whopping D2 million in baits.

HIGH COURT FREEZES AISHA FATTY’S BANK ACCOUNTS May 19, 2023   GAMBIA NEWS Aisha Fatty The high court in Banjul, presided over by Justice Ebrima Jaiteh has ordered the managing directors of Ecobank and AGuaranty Trust Bank to freeze the accounts in the name of Aisha Fatty pending the hearing and determination of a motion of notice filed before the court. The judge made this order on Wednesday, 17 May 2023, in a ruling on an ex-parte motion filed by Lamin Ceesay, the lawyer for Abdoulaye Thiam, the Senegalese businessman who sued Ms Fatty. The court further ordered the vehicles, Mercedes Benz GLE 63 Brabus with registration number BJL 4222 W and Mercedes Benz GLE 53 with registration number BJL 0999 W to remain in the custody of the Inspector General of Police, the second defendant in the case, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice.   SCORPIONS FAN CLUB WILL NOT MAKE IT TO U-20 WORLD CUP May 19, 2023 The Gambia national football fan club has announced it cannot send representatives to the Fifa U-20 World Cup because of financial constraints. Over the last few months the body now recognised as an integral part of the development process of Gambian football, has been staging fundraising drives towards a plan to send its members to cheer the Young Scorpions at the world cup which starts tomorrow in Argentina. The group was well represented at the last Afcon in Cameroon where the country reached the quarter-finals.   Germany Opens Embassy in The Gambia May 18, 2023 Wednesday, the 17th May 2023 marked the official opening of the first Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany in the Republic of The Gambia. To celebrate this occasion, a reception was held at the African Princess Beach Hotel, preceded by the official opening of the Embassy premises (previously the Liaison Office Banjul of the German Embassy Dakar).
